Covering door cards

Post by Itsblue »

Have been coving some new door cards, one of the ply sets available on eBay which are well cut with original hole positions for concealed clips
I got some 6mm soft foam spray glued that on first then glued the vinyl fabric on top of that , makes for a soft feel Image

They look very tidy, nicely done around the curves and corners

Before the clips are fitted offer up the covered door card to the door to check if it sits in to the shallow recess, if the material is thick the overall size of the card will causes problems . The original vw vinyl used on the doors is very thin compared to other materials. The door card needs to sit in the recess for the original style clips to work as they should.

Forgive me if I'm being simple, but where are the holes for the handle, window roller ect? :?: I'm considering doing mine and am not sure if the pre-cut ones holes will fit in the right places! as well as needing to cut speaker holes as well!
