Adding mesh sun visor

I'm thinking of adding a mesh sun visor thingy like these
https://campervanculture.com/shop/vw-t2 ... sun-visor/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Aluminum-Ext ... 2613851434" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
However, I understand you have to drill into the A pillar to attach it.
Can anyone tell me if its the outer A pillar (more exposed to rain/prone to rust) or inside the door shut (more protected/less rust prone) ?

Also, has anyone fitted one without drilling into the A pillar ?
Thankyou.

Thanks for the opinion. I'm not sold on the look myself, but it's my wife's van, and she wants one, so if anyone has answers to the questions they would be very welcome. :)

I'm sure someone will be along who has fitted one, however, as an alternative, you could always replace the glass with one with a sunstrip:

Thanks. I don't think she wants it for the sun-blocking capabilities, it's more for how it looks :)

The camper van one looks like it clamps to the seam.Ring & ask them how it is fitted.

Thanks. I contacted them and it seems like it screws into the A pillar :cry:

Any holes you make in the a-pillar are just invitating corrosion issues.
