Windscreen wipers

Post by pandp38 »

Seem to remember about a year ago someone recommending wiper blades from Home Bargains store. I went there today and bought a couple at £1.99 each ! Not tried them yet though.

The only time I had a new car was when I was in business and the clutch/flywheel assembly lost it's bolts and wrecked the gearbox casing. I have always run cars/vans which are on the long (even longer nowadays) flat bit of the bathtub curve of reliability. Let some other sucker do the off the forecourt and bedding in stuff.

But I try not to use second hand or unbelievably cheap replacement parts. The former being a bit tricky running a T25.
Could be a good deal but borderline by my albeit unusual standards.

My daily car is a 12.5 year old Audi A4 I've had since new. Even if it was worth nothing today, that would equate to a depreciation of £32 a week which is pretty cheap considering the thing has been one of the best all round cars I've had. One thing though, I have bought wiper blades from Halfords, Carparts4less etc etc. None of them are anywhere near as good as the OEM ones I buy from the local Audi dealer for £25 a pair. To be honest at £25 for 2-3 years use, it's money well spent.

Hmm. I suppose you've only wasted £4, but you will have to buy some proper ones very soon.

I've had some HB's £1.99ers on my daily drive for just over a yr now, and they've been great. Slightly hard to start with but soon ok. I bought 1" bigger than I needed on the car too (as its all about that extra inch) They are also a 1/3rd of the price of the Bosch ones I had before them which lasted 18/24 months. I'm putting some on the camper for the next MOT.

Yeah it was me that first flagged them up. They're excellent. They make Bosch ones look amateur - if they're the 'proper' ones hinted at. :rofl
