Sliding Window Felt ( runners? )

Post by Smiffo »

Evening all.

I have the side sliding windows out, both sides, and want to refurb them a bit, with an aim to stop them rattling.
I have found a few discussions on the site ref dismantling - this one was good http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... s#p8080064" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; - but nothing discussing if the felt / rubbers are available somewhere?

It's a Holdsworth conversion, so I am making a bit of an assumption that the conversion used generic windows from another source other than VW?

Any help appreciated.

I spent some considerable time searching for replacement felt seals when I did mine,

http://forum.club8090.co.uk/viewtopic.p ... 6&start=30" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Then eventually found Hadlow Marine who sent samples for me to try

http://www.hadlowmarine.com/Pages/seals-sliding.html#" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

fitted easily and have been good so far. They stock quite a range of felts so maybe you can find one that fits.

Many thanks John..!!

I was contemplating changing them out for non-sliders, but you give me hope.
Out of curiosity - did it stop them rattling when you go over bumps?

Hi
Still undergoing s l o w restoration I'm afraid!
However the sliding glass fits snugly, slides easily and is watertight!
