That's dire...and as the patch doesn't appear to be joined at the bottom not even to MOT test standards...the mount itself appears new...did they source that ? also seems they can't be arsed to put a washer under the bolt...it's grim...sooner it's done right the better...have you paid?

I cannot imagine how I would react if somebody did that to my camper.
I hope you get this sorted out and it ends well.
I dare say that process will cost more money that was necessary.

It hurt. It was tidy enough to look at before a few bits of bubbling but nothing major. Not had a good run recently. Engine failure on my Renault which was old but only done 80k and I'd done the cam belt and DMF so money down the drain. Got a few leaks from the autobox which looks like it's gonna cost. Got to decide whats best way forward spend on this or on a car. My wife wants rid of the camper because of the numbber of problems weve had. I think they're mainly sorted now and it wont devalue like a car

I can understand fully, as probably most here can too.
After 5 years of ownership I was about to call it, and then, that year, a 3,500 mile Club 80-90 trip to Southern Germany made me see things about the van that were just awesome.

It was a bit noisy from the trailing arm so I took it to a T25 specialist fairly nearby for an independent assessment. After looking at it they said everything was fine. It still didn't sound right and getting under today I could see end of the inner bush had been stripped and was hanging down on one side. The outer bush was non existent on inner side so either they hadn't pushed it through properly or the alignment of the trailing arm is cutting them.

Looks like a standard Garage/ mot plate, I've seem a lot lot lot lot worse, you want nice welding you need to take it to a body shop, the crack in
The arm is to from the inside, not caused by the garage

If you go back through the thread I didn't want any welding done at all. After they'd done that patch it I was worried it and the mount hadn't been done properly.
The trailing arm came off and thinking about it they said they'd fitted a new bush to the outside and when it was on the ramp I could see a new one. E D I T. Getting a bright torch on it it looks like the garage didn't push the bush through properly so when I go over a bump the trailing arm is banging against the mount, metal on metal. Back I go on Monday

First shot is outer part of trailing arm and second is inner

The specialist who said that it was OK couldn't have done a good examination.
Also that doesn't look like a piece of a new bush ( what I can see of it).

I'm going to find a career where I'll be paid handsomely for doing things badly due to me having no idea. Sounds like a good earner to me!!

Not really, I can't seem to get anybody to pay me!! Can't be classified as gainful employment if I'm not being paid! :rofl

I booked three weeks ahead for them to check it but after dropping it off after couple of days they said they were too busy to look at it. After I made a bit of fuss saying I wanted to take the kids away for half term they said they'd inspect it and I could pick it up the next day. I don't think they actually looked. I can put up with the breakdowns etc but I'm really sick of the crap standard of work and the hassle of getting someone to actually do a good job. Wish I had somewhere off the road, I'd learn it all myself even if it took ages - at least I'd know it had been done. I am at the point of going down the T4 or even Japanese route now.

If someone decent set up down here specialising I think they'd be pretty busy, there are a lot of vans here.

You say if someone set up specialising in t25s near to you ! On another post you say you took it for an inspection at a specialist close to you! Why didn't you take it there in the first place? Must have been cost? So im guessing you went to different places getting prices, you find one that will do it for a crazy low price and go ahead. (iam aware you say you only asked for a quote). How on earth did a garage obtain a trailing arm mount that day, with no connections with vw t25 part suppliers? Sorry but it dosnt add up to me. Yeh its not a great job, ive seen a lot worse, its a typical mot patch. If you took it to a body shop and asked for a top job, you wouldn't have wanted to pay that much im sure.
