Fitting Door Cards

Post by ro801 »

Hi. Wonder if anyone else is having this problem with their T25
Had a couple of door cards made up by a company called Delilah's. Really nice quality panels and on the whole they fit... however... when I come to refit the door vents they won't go on...argh!
I have spoken to them and they say they've never come across this issue before. It may be that I'm trying to fit them wrong (although surely there is a finite way of fitting them?)
Can anyone:
- Give any guidance on how to re-fit them i.e. do the prong/runners go between the card and the door or into the door cavity itself
- Give me any hint on whether this is a known issue with new door cards and if so what can I do to rectify?

I really don't want to to bodge it as the whole reason for buying them made was to stop me doing this

I have taken some pictures of the issue but I'm not entirely sure how to put them into this post.

Look forward to hearing your opinions.

If you look on the Wiki (tab at top of page) under computer there is a tutorial on how to post pictures.

That's what I thought, if I do that though I end up with picture 3 and I can't fit the vent flush again. The distance between the previous screw holes and the vent screw holes is about 2 cm. I really don't know how previous customers of theirs are not having issues.

The front end of the vent goes over the door card, but if the new door card is a lot thicker than the original this may cause problems. The material should not be wrapped around that front edge , just left a bit long, then its only a single thickness.

Try lifting the front end of the vent over the door card with some thin plastic, might work. Have a try before removing the card.

As above, they wiggle on and over, but you need to make sure the fabric and padding under is only on the face side, and try fitting when door card is off, ,
