Catalytic converter

Post by xs1100515 »

I have a 2.1 waterboxer MV with Digifant fuel injection.

Sometime in the distant past the exhaust appears to have been replaced with a nice shiney SS one. It also appears that the cat was removed and the Lambda sensor bridged to fool the ECU.

Would anyone reccomend when the exhaust is replaced the Cat is also replaced and the lambda sensor refitted. Or would I be asking for trouble?

lambda is good it has no bearing on whether you have a cat as it is in the pipe before the cat, lambda is reading the exhaust so engine management can gauge fuel input to burn as clean and efficiently. You can add a boss to the exhaust for lambda.
Use a Bosch 0 258 003 957, era specific speaks to the ECU reliably
