Where could I get main bearings made to order?

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Where could I get main bearings made to order?

Post by beergut100 »

I have been trying for months to get some 0.25 main bearings with separate thrust for DG engine. I have come to the conclusion that there are none available in the entire world, so I was wondering if anyone knows where I could get some machined. I don't really care any more if this would be a bit pricey, as the alternative is a replacement engine - which is crazy when I just need a set of bearings. Has anyone ever had any bearings made to order, or know of a good engineering firm who could carry out this work?

Of course, if anyone happens to have a set of these bearings sitting in a drawer...

If you can, just hold on a little longer. My sources linked to KS tell me STD and 0.25 are pencilled in for production soon... I have them on backorder with several suppliers and cases/cranks sat waiting.

That's good news! May I ask which suppliers you are using?

My usual list:
Brickwerks first, always.
Then, in order of preference: Heritage, Cool-air, C&C, Serial Combi, vwbusshop.de, eBay, some bloke down the pub, anywhere else, JustKampers.

Oops , my mistake ,sorry to get your hopes up . Saw big end and early mains are available but of course that does not include the ones that everyone is waiting for. Just crazy how long it’s been without availability!
