Maybe I should clarify, when I mean marked with the type of fuel not should it be marked at the pump handle which it normally is, I mean before you queue up you can see on the pillars what type of fuel is available at the pumps before you commit yourself to a line/queue.

If its not E10 I would have thought that it is not legal and should be covered up.

If I recall correctly it will be like the diesel when they increased the bio content.

E10 simply means it can contain up to 10%, so quite legal to have that on a pump still with E5 fuel.

Not really, legally the specification is quite clear.
E5 fuel us allowed to contain up to 5% bioethanol, E10 up to 10%. The ‘up to’ being they key part.

Same with B7 diesel, it’s bio content is up to 7%.

As far as I’m aware fuel companies differ fuel blends slightly for winter/summer use but you never see it declared at pumps.

Bottom line is as long as it falls within standard for the labelled fuel type it’s fine.

The Cohline hose with the blue writing is 100% ethanol proof so all good Stu, i'm not sure about the other piece so might be worth firing a pic across to Brickwerks for confirmation.

BTW the old man has finally (perhaps not as he's not selling his kit?) hung up his riding boots at the age of ninety and sold his Honda CBF250. It been on the cards for about a year now. His left hip is giving limited movement. So straddling a motorcycle is too painful. Seven decades of uninterrupted motorcycling. Not bad eh?
He chides at the thought of buying a step-thru scooter. I thought it was ideal if he wanted to stay on two wheels.
All around relief for myself and three siblings!

I'd be over the moon if i knew I'd be able to ride till i'm 90! On the other hand, i can imagine what a relief it is now that he's not using it - you'll have to get him an XBOX with the Isle of Man race course on it!

Hi all, apologies if has been posted already but just checking what petrol people are using going forward? I have a 1.9 DG and always used 95 unleaded. The van is my only vehicle and has basically been in the garage for the last 6 months, 2nd replacement fuel pump and cleaning the carb inlet filter seems to have fixed it but not before it had a new fuel tank, distributor, carb rebuild, hall sensor, push rod and lots of time and frustration in the mean time  . Hence the new petrol changes have taken me rather by surprise!

Also less urgent but any recommendations for bodywork restoration/respray? I’m South London based but happy to travel further afield for positive recommendations. Don’t want a bodge job and back to bare metal preferable!

The general recommendation is in favour of changing the fuel pipes to conform to E10, or keep using E5 which should still be available after September.  Lots of chat about it on here, have a search.

I've been using E10 since I saw it on the pump.
I've done about 250 miles so far without issues haven't changed timing or anything. But I will be doing a carb rebuild as I don't like the brosol I have fitted at the mo.
