clutch

Post by Al Housman »

I have asked a question on the alternative engine site but really my query is not specific to my AAZ.

My gearbox will be with Aidan soon for some work and we were discussing vibration I get when engaging the clutch at low revs.

My Doka is used extensively for delivering logs with a trailer on as well so it is generally quite heavy.

Aidan and I were discussing the possibility of fitting a dual mass flywheel clutch which would involve him fitting a different input shaft.

Could/would this help reduce/remove the shuddering? Or am I storing up more problems for later given the nature of my work?

It may well be that after a few years of hard graft the present, standard clutch is worn unevenly and just needs replacing. If so that would be a lot less costly to do and may avoid some issues which a DMF clutch may bring with it.

Any thoughts would be gratefully received. I don't really want to go down a (to me) unknown path which may not bring any benefits!!

Cheers
