Re: Lead replacemenr
Only if you have too much money laying about ….( send it to club80-90.co.uk if you do have some spare ? )
these vans never needed leaded , and are perfectly ok on unleaded.
Better to spend your spare cash on replacing the rubbber petrol pipes to be able to handle the fake tree hugging "petrol" e10 stuff …..

Re: Lead replacemenr
The PO of our van suggested we use redex as it helped it run as otherwise it was a bit rough. On the day we drove it back I brimmed the tank and it must have shifted all the crap in the tank it and blocked the carb. The fuel filter was also disgusting and was letting crap past it.
I didn't have tools so had to call recovery about 3 miles from where we set off...
New filter (which i had) fitted and a bit of carb cleaner got us on our way eventually. I ended up having to replace the fuel tank as it ended up not letting fuel get drawn from it.
So, what I'm trying to say is, make sure you change the filter on a frequentish basis and maybe think about looking at the fuel tank if you have fuel issues, they can rust out on the top and the fuel lines on the top of the tank can go bad or come loose letting water and crap into it.

On the subject of stupid E10 fuel, and assuming the fuel lines are okay, are there any other adjustments that need to be made. My local filling station is already selling it.

Your local filling station already has the stickers on the pump , but it should also be displaying a notice saying it isn’t actually that in the pump until September 1st .
Apparently they have been using it in parts of Europe for ages , our old vans seem to be ok apart from the tree hugger fake rubber pipes . Real rubber would be ok with it if it wasn’t 30+ years old .
Dont get sucked into the hype about it is my advice , and it’s only the decaf petrol that is changing anyway , full fat will still be E5 .

Re: Lead replacemenr
It would help if the type of fuel available at the pumps could be put on the pillars as you queue up so you know in advance before joining the line, although as mentioned in a related post I now check by walking the line if there is a queue to ensure E5 is available. Availability should be ok I hope at the larger fuelling stops like supermarkets, but I suspect like some rely on the smaller stations on route, so hope they have a selection also. Should be interesting as E10 rolls out how many stations will still stock E5 and if it runs out quicker than others with the dreaded out of fuel cap on the hose.
