CV grease cartridge
I was rather hoping that I could get CV grease in a cartridge,
a bit like we buy silicone sealants for example.
As that doesnt seem to be available whats the next best way,
surely we want to kind of inject it cleanly into place?

I'm happy with the wee 90gm sachets. Snip off the corner and use it like a piping bag. Squeeze it right in amongst the balls.

If you can be bothered getting in more mess filling the tube - but it would make the application more accurate and easier
Shame it can't be sucked up into the tube like a syringe - or even better if the grease came in 'sausage shaped' plastic bag to slip inside and squeeze out

Ha ha did you actually search for "empty silicone tube" or what!
I like your thinking whatever,
I have a grease gun I could take the nipple fit off the end of,
but as you say its filling it.
Just a bit surprised that a cartridge is not available to fit a normal silicone gun.
And as you say even better the refill sausages system or whatever.
I dont mind getting the sachet thing if no cartridge,
even if just to fill the grease gun easier..
Or fill the empty plastic cartridge as you linked to!

Why not do as syncroMatt stated .
Just pop down cooking area at super store and buy a disposable icing bag.
Easy to fill, empty and dispose of.

Re: CV grease cartridge
Having found the small clip on my cv boot missing and presuming most of my grease had spun out, I tried to cobble up an applicator.
Using one of the sachets, I snipped a corner off and inserted a small steel tube of aboutb4mm diam. (It was the nozzle off an airline blower gun)
Wrapped it tight, making sure I hadn't blocked end, and cable tied it so it didn't slip off or leak.
I managed to slip the tube into the cv boot and began squeezing - but it was too viscous.
So I thought I'd warm the grease using hot water (ban marie type affair).
Back to squeezing and POP went the sachet.
I think trying to squeeze grease in from the small end is a waste of time - although, I think it could work with a decent applicator gun with a 5 or 6 mm stiff nozzle

Re: CV grease cartridge

Re: CV grease cartridge
yep, we discussed that, and it is an idea but we wanted a clean way of filling the gun A grease nipple would be handy
