Definitely don't have power steering! It's a work out in itself reversing onto the drive!

Don't think so although the heater and blowers don't work and when I fitted the missing fuse it blew straight away so can't confirm. It's yet another job on a growing list

So can anyone point me in the direction of how to remove the front belt so I can fit the replacement behind? Something tells me it's not going to be as easy as removing the belt I just took off!

Ajsimmo explains how to loosen the water pump pulley bolts without using the special tool.

Another thing you will need to tackle perhaps is adjusting the lower belt tension .(adding /removing shims) .

Yeah that setup is definitely not right, just to maybe confuse things I had a 1.6jx and then a 1.9 aaz for 10 years that just had 1 belt from the crank across the water pump and around the alternator.

Pulley's presence doesn't mean that it was fitted.

Well I'm going to attempt to remove the water pump belt and re fit them in correct order. Guess it gives me chance to check for any play on water pump while Im there.
Seems to be good thread on it here so hopefully will have a update soonish

So I think I know why the belts were set up that way. One of the bolts in the water pump is seized and the head is stripped...
Image

Looking back at the photos you can see the one that seized doesn't have a washer and looks slightly different to other two (which came out fine)

Any words of wisdom on how to get this out?

These type of rounded nut extractors work well  i gather. Then you are going to need at least 1 new bolt.Image

Just got some extractors and hoping I will somehow be able to use impact driver to give it some welly. With my oil leaks at the minute I would be terrified to get some heat on it incase the whole lot goes up!

Is it worth replacing all 3 bolts or just the rounded one (if I can get it out)
