Oilite bush

Hi
I'm having a hard time finding out where to buy a replacement oilite Bush. Im taking my starter to a guy to refurbish next week and from reading posts and wiki it seems a good idea to replace the Bush while the starter is out.

I have tried brickwerks (which only seemed to show a petrol option) and Google but I'm not sure what I'm looking for. I know its recommended to soak in oil for 24hours so was hoping to have it ready to go the same day I get starter done.

So is there a way to know what I need to order without having to remove it first?

Sorry if its a obvious answer its all pretty new to me

Cheers

The bush is integral with the starter motor, it should be replaced by whoever is refurbishing the starter.

Ah OK thanks! for some reason I thought it was in the gap left when you remove starter motor. Kind of explains why I was finding it hard to find a replacement!
Cheers

The bush is separate to the starter and is available separately, they are only different to standard if the starter is machined and a smaller inner diameter bush is required

Thanks.

So I am a bit confused. I originally thought after removing the starter motor and giving it in to be refurbished, I would have to use an expanding bolt or tap set to remove a Bush from where the starter motor entered the engine and replace this myself?

When looking for a replacement some had a flange and others were advertised as petrol and not diesel. I was hoping to attempt the whole refurbishment myself but lost my bottle after not being able to work out the right parts to order.

Petrol ones have the bush in the case, diesel ones are all in one - 2 completely different starter motors.

Diesels and Autos, the bush is integral with the starter housing.

Im aware of the difference, As he asking for it to be supplied it’s reasonable to assume that it’s not integral to the starter And therefore petrol.

Thanks everyone. That diagram is exactly what I was after! Is that from manual that you can buy?

This thread is a good example of why you should add what engine you have.

You did, that's how I knew you were talking about a Diesel starter.

It's my phone or Tapatalk. For some reason, it does not show peoples signatures.
