Hi
Does anyone know if fixing worn suspension bush or arm on t25 1989 high top would be really expensive? Am thinking of buying this van and this came up at its last MOT. I would appreciate any advice.
thanks
Siobhan

Depends if you are doing the work yourself or not really..
A whole brand new trailing arm is just south of £300
Just replacing the bush is considerably less, couple of hours labour I would guess..

Have a look at this by James Akers, this is what you may have to do if you do the work yourself, I say may as it depends on the condition of the arm. Either way it is a good guide.

Hi Sam
I haven't worked out yet how to really use this site so hence the delay in replying!
I am getting my van soon - had first drive today - accelerator sticking so still needs tweeking. It has had a 2L gti engine fitted and am hoping the insurance will be OK and it's a modification. They asked me today what the difference in bhp is but I had not idea and have to find out from the renovating guy!
Do you have a T25?
Siobhan

Engine swaps are very common, and don't impact insurance, unless a big one is going in. A golf GTi engine is quite modest so shouldn't be an issue, though you must declare it. Good luck on the buying!
