Clutch master cylinder replacement pushrod adjustment

Post by baabaa »

Hi all, I am contemplating fitting a new clutch master cylinder which looks straight forward, my question is this: the Haynes manual states possible requirement to adjust the pushrod, if so is this difficult or even possible in place ?
Thanks in advance, Dave

it's not easy, especially on a rhd as access is pants. If you don't have excess wear in the pedal clevis fitting then it's a straightforward swap out. Why are you considering changing it ?

I managed it with great difficulty, large hands and arthritis don't help. Very frustrating to do and I remember making a spanner to do the lock nut on the adjustment, can't remember what I made though. I was only replacing the clevis though and not the whole caboodle not that made a lot of difference I suppose.
