Hello comrades. I have been finding a host of different data about my dilemma with no clear outcome. I’m running a 091 DT code gearbox on an AGG engine with diesel linkage and a diesel mount which sits the gearbox nose higher than petrol. When refilling with gbox oil should it still take 3 Lyra as petrol or 4 because it’s sitting as a diesel would? Thanks v much. Tim

Re: Unusual gearbox
4 litres imho
I don't subscribe to the 3 litres in a petrol box, it was a later fudge by VW to minimise the baulking when cold but reduces the protection to the crown and pinion, running 75w/90 oil helps a little with the baulking but just slow shift first few shifts of the day after a mile it's fine

Re: Unusual gearbox
Thanks Aidan, as I don’t know how much was left in the box due to emptying it whilst on ramps I’m guessing that if it’s level I should let any excess drain out until level with or slightly under the fill hole. My slight concern is did I overfill by putting 3.5ltr in on top of whatever was left in it at the time.

Hi Aiden.
Would you fill a 4 speed box level to the fill bung? Fitted to a diesel T25.
Thank you
