Yes, the seal can be changed without special tools but it is a bit PITA.
Prying out the old seal can be difficult, you can use two screws screwn into the seal and pull it with pliers. But be careful you can damage the bearing behind the seal.
Tapping the new seal with a hammer and some dolly in is the easiest part.
You may have to tap a speedi-sleeve on to the flange too.

OK cheers for the replys but Isn't the flange Spring loaded And that's why you need the tool to push the flange back in so you can get the circlip out so the spring is easy to push back then

No they are not spring loaded, however the circlip is a special one, needs flat nose circlip pliers like this:

And there is a belleville conical spring washer under the circlip that pushes the flange inwards.

It will sweep some oil out but no need to drain fully.

Just fitted the new seal but not so sure its the right one Seem to go into the gearbox to easy without any resistance pushed in with my fingers is this right the old one Seemed to have a lot more Resistance when taking out double check my order and it does say its for a 4/5 speed gearbox

I use a press to put the seals in normally, in situ I use a tube with a closed end and a 1Kg brass hammer, and I oil the seal outer first so it doesn't pick up or grab, you must have very strong fingers
the JK ones go in very slightly easier than the Elring ones from Brickwerks but not much difference
