Get yourself the pocket mechanic manual for diesel/turbo diesel by Peter Russek, very detailed little book.

Cold start won’t make any difference to it starting

If the heater plug light isn’t coming on then they probably aren’t receiving power from the relay ( check the fuse in the black box to the left of the engine bay )

It sounds like it’s either got a flat battery dodgy connections or a dodgy starter , try jumping it from a running van

Why are you replacing the injector pipes ?

Can you take a picture of the whole engine bay ? , just want to check stuffs in place

Just wanted to renew as many parts as I could really.
I had a look at the starter motor last night and the connections are really corroded so I assume that’s where my problem lies.
This is the best photo I have to hand of the whole bay

Don’t replace anything that doesn’t need it , new doesn’t necessarily mean better or even useable in some cases, has the pump been refurbished?

Not a Diesel owner so can't offer much advice there, however I would advise disconnecting the battery before undertaking any work on the starter motor etc.

I’ve got quite a few bits missing lol.
Is it a job worth doing to replace it?

All good and running now. Was a dodgy starter motor.
I’ll leave the pipes then, I’ll try to send them back and get some money.
I don’t think it’s been refurbished but I’d like it to be for peace of mind. Maybe something for the future
