wbx crank bearings

Post by silverbullet »

If you can find them, buy them! All have been on back order for months, so dont even consider starting a rebuild without them in hand (or check for availability immediately before dismantling and then order asap!

You have been warned...
I had just one set of mains on the shelf and they are going into a 1.9 to 2.1 conversion, then no more wbx until the KS make some more.

I'm likewise. One last set of STD mains and big ends on the shelf, set aside for the next job, a DG to MV upgrade with new crank.
Orders placed all over the shop(s) for when/if they come back in, and just bought the very last sets of 0.5 U/S off both Brickwerks and CoolAir. I have a couple of good std 2.1 cranks to grind to 0.5mm to match the bearings, then I'm sitting on my hands. There are no 0.25s anywhere that I can find either.

Update: For anyone that received a "back in stock" alert from Heritage this morning - they're not!
I rang them excitedly to see if my preorder was being despatched, and it was just one single set that came in, which was then allocated to a customer who ordered in December!
It could be a long wait...

I tried there too Image, all gone Image.

But I have been lucky enough to acquire several sets of KS mains in various sizes, and matching big ends, from a very kind benefactor who had them stashed - cheers pal ImageImage Image

Some say, that Kolbenschmidt (OEM Manufacter) will produce the bearings again. They will be avaiable approx. july this year.

I don't know if there are going to be more sizes than std.

KS are now listing the later type main bearings as OBSOLETE.

I would take the July restocking date with a large pinch of salt.
