Hello,
My van is in Wales for restoration ... that work is done now, and the guy doing the restoration is about to take it to get an MOT before getting it back to me. It starts, and turns over, but apparently won't rev -- he describes it as running flat ...
Last ran it a couple of weeks ago when he moved it & said it was fine then. Any ideas what he could try to get it revving properly. He's put a gallon of fresh fuel in it...
Thanks,
James

Re: 2.0L CU engine won't rev
does it just splutter and die when trying to rev?
has he/she knocked the dizzy or leads by accident?

No -- it runs & idles, but won't rev properly. Says the dizzy hasn't been moved, so don't think the timing has changed

"won't rev properly"
Apologies if I'm being pedantic.. So does it rev right up to the redline, does it have a "flat" spot and have to be coaxed up the rev range, does the accelerator do absolutely nothing?????
