Front noises anyone?
Hi all
I had the top wishbone bushes replaced both sides a few years ago now and for a relatively short time there was peace oh blissful peace but alas no longer in fact not for the last couple of years. Well her who sits the other side issuing directions insists that the noise is coming from my side (RHD of course) Can they have gone again or were they not fitted properly is that even possible?
I looked on JK and they seem to do a kit which is expensive but maybe that way I could fit them myself as I could get them welded up first. Is that possible?
Look forward to all your help. I need some peace!!!!!

Re: Front noises anyone?
Oh yes, they can go bad quite quickly ..... I had. I’ve done four years ago , and they are now groaning and creaking again
its the bloody modern rubber , it’s just no good since the tree huggers had all the rubber taken out of it .
I wouldn’t buy from jk , if anywhere has poor quality it’ll be them, if they even send the correct part , speaking from experience.

Re: Front noises anyone?
Thanks for the advice. Am I right in thinking I could get them welded to the wishbone first or is that not possible?
Re: Front noises anyone?
Release the pivot nut a bit. If it stops squeaking then deffo wishbone bushes. Make certain the allen key socket stays in the same position when releasing nut from shaft. Otherwise you will lose camber settings.

Re: Front noises anyone?
Thanks for that sounds like a plan. Do you know the answer about the welding?
Just looked on BWerks and the lot comes to £99.74 so not so bad I guess but a shame I can't weld them in place!
Re: Front noises anyone?
What are you buying for 99.74?
If you can remove wishbones and fit bushes yourself, get a local mechanic to add a spot weld.
Is not a difficult job. 2 or 3 out of five spanner rating.
Easy to set up camber again with a small spirit level and a flat driveway

Checked it out but have noted a couple of problems! 1 I don't have a vice 2 I'm a 9 stone weakling
Re: Front noises anyone?
Lets step back a bit.
Normally rocking van using gutter above doors gives the wishbone squeak. Try that first. Both drivers' and passenger side.
Check the camber rod is not overly tightened or binding due to lack of grease.
Check torque setting
Check garage did spot weld bushes
What is costing 100 quid? Bushes are about a tenner each.

Re: Front noises anyone?
I'll check all that out tomorrow and report back.
The 79 squid was:
2 x bushes £14 each
Top ball joint £13.80
Bolt £20.84
Wishbone £32.34
I'm guessing you'll say I don't need all that?

Re: Front noises anyone?
Depends on condition of that lot on your vehicle? But lve never come across a wishbone that needed binning. Clean up and rattle can spray job.
It is a fairly easy job to take out wishbone.
Top ball joint can be released from wishbone by undoing two bolts.
