I’m saying it’s not diesel, perhaps folks used diesel 50 years ago, and that oil tech and cleaner tech has moved on since the times people used diesel as an engine flush

The mechanic suggested to use proper flush first, then drain it, then pour 10 litres of diesel through.... not flush with the engine running....

I've ordered 10/40 ENGINE OIL - 15W40 / MINERAL / 5L
I'll not use the diesel to run through.... Does sound a bit drastic....

So there's no issue going from Semi Synthetic to Mineral?
Does anyone have a link for a decent avoidable pressure taster ?

Without the drain plug pour 10 litres of diesel through.... "

I read it that the last thing put in was diesel, and I think you must have missed that part, and just seen the flushing oil part? Then going on to something about 50 years ago that I didn't really get. Anyway, my point was that would still leave a little diesel sitting where semi-synthetic engine oil used to be, and that is worse than just changing the oil!
Ok, I think that's clear. He's not using diesel now. Phew!

Semi synthetic should be compatible with synthetic or mineral , what’s the 10/40 for , to flush it ?

I did miss the diesel but , I assumed it was going to be used as a flush which is what people used to use before proper engine flushes came out , 50 years ago :)

I wouldn’t Chuck diesel through personally

Had this issue a few years back. Problem started when I loaded the van with to many paving slabs and went up a little hill!
Thereafter the buzzer would sound every so often. Typically when approaching a roundabout, slowing down in third, the buzzer sounded as I entered the roundabout then stopped as I changed down and increased revs as I left the roundabout.
Simon at brickworks told me to change the oil. It was an instant cure, no messing with sensors, circuit boards or flushing. Do the easy thing first before messing.
