Hi all,
Just been given the great news that my gearbox is not well, it won't go in to 3rd, so heavy on fuel and revving like mad.
Obviously, finding a replacement is a global mission and was wondering if there are any recommended garages I could ship it to for some TLC. I can't find one in the S West
Thanks
Phil

I saved these in my bookmarks I have never used them myself but might be worth giving them a bell.

Hiya,
These people might help. stantonautomatics.co.uk
They are just down the road from me and supposedly have a good reputation although I have, fortunately, never had to use them.

Re: Automatic gearbox help
Hi Phil
Hope your well and managed to sort out the problem with your autobox.
I wonder if you actually got to the bottom of the fault as my 86 1.9dg auto wbx seems to have the same issue.
It’s ok around town as it doesn’t need top gear but as soon as you take it on motorway it’s clearly not going into top gear.
It does 50mph at 4000rpm screaming it’s nuts off ...... when it did go into top gear it’s was steady away 65-70 at 3900
What was your solution ?
(Praying it’s a quick fix)
Thanks in advance
Nigel
