JX Doesnt start after adjusting return spring

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

JX Doesnt start after adjusting return spring

Post by Dueller »

Hi Everyone, cant believe my first post is a cry for help

Being new to the black fuel 1600td motor in my Doka i noticed the big ugly 8 inch throttle return spring didn't quite pull the arm back on to its stop so removed it as it left a gap of about 2mm, rewound the return spring (so now it removes fingers if careless) to sit on the stop screw, and of course the engine has gone from a lovely starter to a - starts with foot on the pedal flat for about 10 secs then dies, wont rev, wont do anything, alternator light doesn't go off either

Up till i fixed what wasn't broken it started first time, 30 sec relay delay, and would idle away to itself happily and i coukd drive happily

What have i done as undoing this and going back hasn't helped either

I did notice the battery was flat so charged it up and that's made no difference

any advice welcome

i had this once the spindle that goes through the centre had turned when not looking if it has a slot for a screwdriver so if you turn it i think left it should be back to normal.

Top man!!!

Sorted me right out, fires up now thankfully and all is well in the world

Think that slots for alignment as couldn't find a thin enough screwdriver to fit but was able to position it and get the arm on and locked into place

Thank you again, I owe you one
