Dismantling lubricant

Post by TONYT25T25 »

Want to buy the best dismantling lubricant and have seen recommendations for Plus Gas on this forum.  Seem to remember using this in the past and want to ensure I buy the correct product.  The one I remember is a blue can but have seen plus gas advertised in a different coloured can but called plus gas formula A, not worried about the can colour its what is inside I want, can anybody throw any light on this please and recommended sellers. Also spray or tin can where you apply by brush.

Looks like they changed the can colours a few years ago. But the stuff inside is the same. Go to www.plusgas.co.uk/history/

Interesting, thought they may have changed the formulae due to environmental issues.  Have used stuff from LIDL which is listed as a rust removal and lubricant dismantler but always worth having something else at hand, especially for these vehicles.

However if I was very rich I would buy one of those induction heater units ,it heats up the seized up part without any flame.

Thanks, them induction coils are expensive, I suppose you could hire it if you were really stuck on removing something that refuses to budge using lubricants.
