Exactly, if the water pump was duff it would not be long before an overheat problem happened, not sure which one you have fitted but it is just an impeller driven off the drive belt.  If rotating and not leaking should be ok I would have thought.

True..
As it’s not overheating will leave alone for the moment I think.. other jobs to finish off as well...
