Best oil filter?

Post by luter82 »

Hi guys,
I cannot find on the forum any topic about it, is there any oil filter that you tend to suggest? I almost always have used Bosch but is there anything better or a type of Bosch that you think is better than others?

Thanks in advance

Mann Filter W719/12 & some 15W/40 ‘mineral’ oil

Brickwerks sell a good service kit, I recommend you do the other bits too.

I generally go with MANN, but these days, like many other brands, they seem to be moving production to the evil empire. If produced there, any bets on quality are off.. So shop carefully.. and don't rule out NOS. Last time I was after fuel filters, I rejected the MANN chinamade option, I ended up with Ebay Bosch NOS made in Spain.

I have got some material about a panamerican road trip done with my 1979 T25. I visited lot of mechanics and several things have happened. Hopefully I will be able to upload something soon.

Bloody hell, is that an original part? Do you still have the ebay link?
To be honest I would think new filter should perform better...

Hi Luter

No link, they just pop up from time to time on eBay

I scored 2 new distributor caps and a rotor arm from the same guy
I prefer genuine ign parts and that was what i was searching for
when he asked if i needed any oil filters

Rick
