Engine temperature rising on full throttle
Temperature guage has always been quite steady, but today on a run I found that on a slight incline in 5th at about 45 mph with foot to the floor to maintain speed the temperature guage rose rapidly. I know it was hot out, but it's never done that before (or at least I hadn't noticed) any thoughts?

Could be water pump struggling to keep up, have you checked coolant levels since.

Re: Engine temperature rising on full throttle
Tony, water pump was replaced last year, so I didn't suspect that.
Ajsimmo. I pulled off and shut down then let the engine cool a bit till I was prepared to pop the cap.
I checked the levels, had a think and set off with an eagle eye on the guage. Temp rose once shortly after setting off, but then seemed ok.
I asked the same question on Facebook, and the general consensus was that I should have downshifted and let it rev. I haven't had anything similar since.
