Hi all, my 2.1 wbx 112 has gained a new issue. Two weeks ago I was experiencing misfiring on the motorway, I thought this was fixed when i found a snapped spark plug pin inside the lead. Changed all spark plugs and the van drove the rest of the journey with no issue. A couple of days later I went out in the van again and after a 45 mins driving I pulled up at some lights and as I went to accelerate off with highish revs the van stuttered and jolted. It then silently cut out, however started again instantly. It then drove for the next 10 minutes with no issues before doing it again at another set of lights when accelerating slowly. I managed to keep it running but as i pulled in to park the van cut out again. still starting first time when trying again. Any thoughts much appreciated! Off away this weekend for our first trip so would love to get it fixed before then!!

Have you changed the rotor arm and dissy cap recently ?
check centre pin of dissy cap , it’s sprung loaded ,  it I had one that Began sticking and not making a good contact at tickover, but was fine at driving speed, took a while to find ...

Hi Steve, I haven't changed them since I have owned the van in the last year. I have had a good check over it though when a previous problem arrived and all looked well. It's only once the engine has warmed up that this becomes an issue. Does that align with a problem there? thanks!

No mine was when cold mostly .

sounds like you should research "Vanagon syndrome" and "temp2 switch"
although I would say change the dissy , rotor and leads

Just had a read... symptoms sound quite similar! I'll change dizzy, rotor arm and leads as suggested and cross fingers! if not I know where to begin looking!

thanks!
