Large and small fuel filter sizes, which is right for an Aircooled engine?

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Large and small fuel filter sizes, which is right for an Aircooled engine?

Post by jjht25 »

Hi,

Replaced the fuel filter on my van, noticed that there are two sizes with the large one being the one I replaced for the smaller type. Doesn't seem to be any difference to the vans performance but wondered if there was a 'right' size based on your engine?

It makes no odds on a engine this size , it just means it takes twice as long to fill the filter housing from empty and give a bigger reservoir of caught debris .
i always use the large ones , but carry the small ones in the van in case of issues ( take up less room and fill faster if you are broken down )
