Oil temp sensor

I have a remote oil filter & cooler setup I’m fitting to my 1.9 DG.

As the remote housing has a 1/8” npt port I thought I’d add a temperature sensor while I’m at it. Trouble is the sensor bottoms out before a seal is made.
I thought a male x female npt fitting would solve but all the ones I’ve found are short so sensor would bottom out in the adaptor.

This would work out the postage is a killer!
