Traction Control

Post by rollercoaster »

Does anyone know much about traction control,
its on a Mk 4 Golf and I am wondering about its usefulness,
better than nothing I guess, almost as good as 4x4 perhaps?
Given that on a Golf it would not have difflocks,
so in effect 4x4 is still only 2wd just one at each end..
Is it reliable though or easily repaired if its not?

ESP?
i used to drive , occasionally a mk4 ( I think) that has esp, and it did seem to be more sure footed in the snow
it was years ago and it was nearly new at the time , so maybe it was me being over gentle too , seeings as it wasn’t mine and the rather nice lady who owned it was a bit on the scary side at times !
