Hi all,

So the garage rang me to say I need to find a new pump shaft, as the splines on it are totally bent. Any ideas on where I might be able to source one?! They were struggling to come up with suggestions - I have attached a picture of it, but I havent tried to attach photos before, so not sure if it will work

Thanks v much for the really helpful advice so far!
David

Hi all,

Had a long conversation with Aidan Talbot just now (who cannot help as he does manuals, but he said he might have one of these in the back of his yard - fingers crossed!). Either way, he looked online while I was on the phone and found this https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Genuine-VW-S ... SwUSFeVR-z" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

It isnt the same codes as the JPAT ones, so I have asked them - but maybe this is the right part?

It does seem to be - the OEM part number for it apparently is 090323561. I googled that and found a couple of suppliers as well as the ebay link - and it seems to be the right dimensions, so fingers crossed!

I have ordered one and asked for it to be shipped ASAP, so I should know in a few days.

I hope it all goes smoothly now. These gearboxws are a PITA if they go wrong but in the City they are so much more pleasant to drive.

Hi all,
Just wanted to say thanks again and all's well that ends well - the van is back and it works really well now.  Wavertree did a really good job in my view - and with your help to find the parts, which were ruined it all seems to be going ok now.  I've taken it out for a few longish runs now and all seems to be working great (and I do think having an auto in London is great) - fingers crossed it stays that way
Cheers
David

Just emailed Paul at Wavetree about a T2 I'd found but he doesn't do them. The good thing with Wavertree is that if something isn't right they keep at it until it is (unlike the Southend bodgers who take your cash and cut you adrift)
