Throttle Body Question....

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Throttle Body Question....

Post by irishkeet »

Hello

I have a Syncro Caravelle I am working on and it came with a few spare parts, one of which is the larger throttle body on the right in the photos below....

Smaller (left side) TB part number is - 025133067A - this one is the same as the one in the van

Larger TB part number is - 025061G (doesn't seem like a full part number to me), and also stamped on the side is B9 314 947 1

Just wondering if anyone know a bit more about the larger TB. Some parts are identical and it seems to have some extras (maybe for cruise), no idea, curious to know more. Any help much appreciated

Looks like the one used on the SS, which has a second butterfly as a "charge limiter" device.

Same as an MV but with extra gizmos to reduce emissions/noise/power. Switzerland's fault.

So is this throttle body OK to use on a DJ or an MV engine I wonder?

You cant use the SS type TB on any other efi engine unless you have the vacuum globe, solenoid valve and pipework to control it.
There may be more differences in the ecu as well, its just a performance knobbling device tbh

You could use it on an MV, but fix the actuator arm open on the charge limiter. Can't use it on a DJ as there's no vac port.
