I don’t know what system that is , but I can answer the other question...
You can fit either early or late exhaust systems to with early or late water system engines , the fact is all the bolt on parts for all WBX 4cyl are interchangeable ( excluding the DF which has different size inlet manifold ports )
However fitting a late exhaust onto a early water system does involve very close margins on the waterpump / thermostat housing and port 2 , it fits , but it’s close . Obviously you would also need a silencer support bracket kit for the later silencer too .

But are you sure yours isn’t stainless ? With mild steel flanges ? Try a magnet test ( when it’s cold obviously)

Just an update, vans in at a local garage as I wanted to get a compression check and carb tune.
Seems to be a stainless exhaust system. I will hopefully know tomorrow (Tuesday) sometime.

E D I T- Got the van back it was the exhaust that was causing all the noise, it's been welded and now it's nice and quiet no more fear enducing metallic grinding / clanging coming from the back.
