Where does your temperature gauge sit?

Post by LewisMac »

Do t25’s all have different temp gauge needle positions?

Will add a pic of mine at idle with the heater blower on hot. It tends to creep up more when heater blower is off. Is this common?

On mine depends on the air coldness, in march went to Norfolk coast and the air temperature was certainly more colder and needle was sitting just a bit below centre running around, though more inland it was dead centre over the led, naturally if in traffic or going uphill on a warm day it start creeping up and then the fans kick in.

Hi rick.

Does your needle rise up when you aren’t blowing hot air? Mine will move up another 1/2 needle width.

Ours just to the left of the red light. Always has done. I think everyone's is slightly different but if it's running fine and the fan kicks in when needed it should be fine.

Left of the LED. Setting the heater to cold does raise the needle a touch. I also switch to a Summer Stat.

There have been a lot of threads about the position of the needle and somewhere around the centre, left or right by a needle width seems to be normal.

A year ago my gauge started to point way over to the right, with the red light flashing occasionally. No coolant loss and cooling fan kicked in as normal. Swapped temperature sensor for new one and now gauge sits slightly left of LED

Mine used to sit way over to the left of the led, I changed my thermostat as part of a waterpump swap and now it stays over the led which I think is normal for these vans.

Mine's the same as yours, goes up a tad if I turn off the heating. As long as it's stable it's probably fine.

They are adjustable so the exact position will vary. :D

On my 1.6TD i have never seen the gauge go much past the white bit, I did wonder if it worked at one point.

Mine is slightly further right to the one pictured but stays there religiously and moves back ever so slightly at lower speeds. This was with a new sensor fitted, however, when I had the old manky one in there it sat in the middle (should’ve kept it)!
