Handbrake cable - what's this part?

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Handbrake cable - what's this part?

Post by Nathanb »

Hi All,

I replaced my rear handbrake cables today with two of these from Brickwerks.
https://www.brickwerks.co.uk/t3-parts/b ... heels.html
Everything is fine and working well, however I am left with these spare parts that came with the cables and have no idea what they would be for.
The old cables that I took off didn't have these parts and I can't seem to work out where they would be used.

Does anyone have any ideas?

Not used on T3s. I assume they're for those older less desirable Transporters.

Agreed. I knew that this part wasn't on the new shoes i fitted as that doesn't use a pin and clip, it's a pressed bolt.
Also checked the old shoes i removed and they are the same, so as you say this must have been used for much older shoes.

I guess it can go into my spares box unless anyone needs it.
