What advice can you give on buying an automatic T25 or should I avoid?

I drive an auto and love it.They have their problems, like should the gearbox fail, getting it sorted will be a pain. And getting hold of a good S/H one wont be easy.I would say buy a van with a manual gearbox.

love my auto, makes driving so easy. got mine due to health reasons though. as bob said , if you don`t realy need it go for the manual as eassier and cheaper to maintain.

It's pointless to worry about the MPG of a petrol T25 of any sort. It will be bad if you drive slowly and catastrophic when 'making time'. The real expense to worry about is not the fuel costs. which are unavoidable, but repair bills which can be huge if you aren't careful with your purchase. Any gearbox will do, any engine as well, as long as the body isn't rusty and the mechanicals have been looked after. 10 years of fuel savings made with a certain gearbox or engine can be wiped out by a single garage bill...

Yes Moonrakers good point but I was just wondering what he mpg is.

If the automatic gear box fails there are still parts available though ?
