Servo Question

Post by boxer »

Looking at the arguments for fitting a BMW servo, it would appear that there is an approximate ten percent gain in diaphragm area over the t25 servo.

This improves the braking, according to some , significantly.

If you were to increase the vacuum in the servo by a similar or higher percentage would it have a similar effect?

Also has anyone considered how the servo could be relocated to accommodate a significantly larger one?

I did think this could be done but then you would have to consider how to preserve the dual circuit aspects of the braking system?

I can't answer your questions...but in my case( van) i find the braking fine.
In the past though I had one case of very dangerous brake fade!! ( in the " Alps ") due to a poor choice of pads ( fast road pads!')
If I made any changes I'd go for " vented " discs.
I dont think, so I'm not[do I exist?]

I've fitted the bmw servo and I'm happy with it. The brakes feel responsive and it doesn't take that much pressure to lock up all 4 wheels

Ha ha ditto the alps thing only in the pyrennese. Locking all 4 wheels would not be nice but knowing you could would be. Just looking for a simpler way of getting there.
