Intercooler fitted and servo question.

Big lumps of metals and spanners. Including servicing and fluids.

Intercooler fitted and servo question.

Post by boxer »

Neat intercooler fitting? What do you think?

Defender 300Tdi should be big enough? Cone style air filter tucked away behind it. There's easily room for a fan if it needs it.

And the new pump.

Oil cooler is next

Re the servo.

If I could increase the vacuum on the servo by 10% would that be the same as increasing the size by 10%? ie like fitting the BEEMER one,

I was expecting people to tell me it won't work and what I should have done is........

Any thoughts on the servo question?

Only run it up the road so far as it's in the shop for more work as well.

Pump has had the governor mod and it's the original JX bottom with the top of a '1.6td sirocco' , no I've never heard of one either.

The pump has been set to run with no smoke at the moment so not much more power expected. Gauges will be fitted and tweaking will commence shortly.

Ok so today a little bit of tweaking , still no smoke but engine cover fitted and a quick drive after warm up.
Transformation. Just wants to go I can hear the turbo whistling, 40 to 50 in top is easy pulls away clean from standstill in second and pulled through the gears up a short steep hill from a standstill. No extra boost just a bit more fuel and the pump pin tweaked.
So, even with new calipers fitted the brakes are going to need some more bleeding and I need some views on the increased vacuum theory . Anyone?
