JX Air Intake Pipe

Post by craigy345 »

Was fitting new rear lenses and discovered my air intake was disconnected and in a right state.

This is the air intake in the rear near side vent that goes to the air filter - (accessed via the rear N/S light aperture)
I have a 1.6TD JX so the cylinder type air filter.
The vertical pipe work / tube was disconnected in the vent I have reattached this but also discovered....
The bottom piece from the elbow section to the air filter had completely perished (this is the piece that runs horizontally behind the light cluster).

See below...

And what it should look like...

Hope that makes sense?

Anyone know where I can get a replacement? or suitable alternative?
Looked at the usual places (Brickwerks etc...) and on-line can't seem to find it anywhere?
At the moment Im looking at a gaffer tape bodge!!!

Cheers in advance?

OH and will it make any difference when all re-connected? god knows how long its been like this?

Thanks :ok

BW has a silicon version of this hose for about £25:

Thanks,
I did see this, but wasn't sure if the right part?
Or if this is the tube that goes vertically upwards from the elbow to the air vent?

The original had a sponge type outer coating that was held on with a cable tie? as you can see in the pictures.

If the sponge is not important? then will any hose do?
£25 + postage seems a lot for less than 12" of tube?
