steering snagging

Recently i've had the steering stick after a sharp corner a few times, having to fight the wheel to get it back in a straight line. it feels like the problem is in the steering column, near the steering wheel - a "plasticy" rubbing, possibly the indicator self-cancel. I need to whip the steering wheel off and see if there is anything obvious causing it. Any common issues to look out for?

I had the same thing... found out it was my Mudflap that was bending back in towards the wheel

Interesting - no mud flaps on mine though!

I guess I should get the front wheels off the ground on some axle stands so I can do some proper experiments..

Power steering? If so then the u/j joining the relay shaft to the rack has failed. Immediate replacement (do not drive it at all) needed before you have an accident!

Could possibly be the relay box, also has needle roller bearings. Never heard of one failing though.
Best to jack up the front and investigate thouroughly. Unbolting the relay shaft is quick and will isolate the rack from the box and column, its a process of elimination.

Maybe have a good look at those rubber couplings too.

Just for the record, this was being caused by a broken ignition steering lock, presumably from a theft attempt
