Steering rack gaiter
Is it possible to buy these separately, anyone know of a substitute? Doing a little pre MOT work and noticed a split. Thanks.
Why would the glass be anything other than half full?

Shhhhhh
Re: Steering rack gaiter
factory boots wont have clips cos they fit perfect!
aftermarket ones will last about a year before they split again!
timer and time again I have fitted good used genuine ones which outlast new repo ones!
DONT remove the large rubber donut, leave it there for when you realize how crap repos are and refit genuine ones!
and you don't need to mess with the tracking with genuine ones as you only need to remove the track rod end from the hub and NOT the track rod end from the track rod as the genuine boot goes over the tre!

Re: Steering rack gaiter
OEM Beemer E30 also fit (very heavy duty) but you will need the matching donuts because they are bigger

I'm about to fit two new ones (repo I'm guessing). Accepting what you say about their lifespan, where would I find 'good used genuine' ones? I'm intrigued.
Thanks,

I really need to do this job also, does anyone know if heritage are oem, or found some bimmer ones, or have some they would like to donate me?
