It's normally in the middle of the van?

If its broken, get it welded. Seems a common solution.

Hi Cov,he had it pinned? and welded ,it snapped again just above the weld...
When I did mine I used a high tensile stud [tapped the two parts of the stick ] and locktite,i told his mechanic? this.

interesting to see if your gear selection is stiff or your being heavy handed with the shift.

you should be able to change gear with one finger , no struggle and it should just 'drop in'

The only reason I can see for a welded one failing (again) is because the weld was a load of pidgeon poo applied with no amps and poor prep. The gear lever tube is good quality CDS, it isn't Wickes wardrobe rail...

Blimey, there's no way I'd get mine across the detent for 1st with one finger.
