The choke flap position is adjusted by turning the autochoke housing.
Three screws on the housing allow flap position to be moved quite significantly

The flap does not close fully and it lies at an angle, giving the impression it's too big

This shows the range of movement

No, don't mess with it at all. Its a bimetallic spring. It simply tightens up or uncoils slightly, according to temperature. The easiest way to set it correctly is to locate the end of the spring on the choke flap lug and with engine cold (early morning best) turn choke until flap just shuts then tighten screws enough so it doesn't move.

With engine hot, check choke flap is fully open. In normal operation the choke coil will open flap in about one to two minutes.

Hi guys tried turning the auto choke when I turn it anticlockwise it opens the flap . So I have turned clockwise . And still no good .It won't tick over on choke unless I keep my foot on accelerater . Any ideas I don't think carb is set up right .

does the choke pull down work?
i.e. does it open the choke flap when you increase the revs?
