Thank you for all the information and links. Im starting to get the bigger picture now. Ill use the 009 to get me on the road but if Im considering a long term improvement... Should I go electric or just SDVA?
Any thoughts on why theres no choke in there also whilst Im here?

Much appreciated

The points in the distributor aren’t the right ones , look for late bay 2ltre points etc or 009 ones

Condenser wants changing by the looks of it
I'm a bit confused, I ordered the 009 condenser but it has a square bung and so doesn't fit. Does that mean my distributor isn't a 009? I have since bought a 'bay 1970-72' condenser and that fits and seems to work. Yet to receive any points however. I would ideally like to upgrade the p & c to Petronix I but will that even work? This is what Im looking at but again the bung is square :/

Hello,

Square and round bungs on your condensor.... :)

I bet the green lead is not long enough either....

If you buy beetle T1 stuff, (113 part nr), because it is the cheapest, it will not fit..

Just saying...

Hi Thanks for your reply. Every 009 condenser I found online had a square bung... so Im assuming they all are or is that not the case? Im not trying to buy "cheap" I dont really mind the cost I just want it to be the correct one and figure out what distributer I have also. But if you can help let me know!

Cheers

It may be a cheap copy of an 009

There’s really 2 condenser options for late distributors , look at the pictures in the description

Hi Sarran. Do you think the distributor I have must be a cheap copy? Id rather be running on decent gear so can you recommend a replacement? I would like to use an electronic ignition and have points as back up ideally.

Thanks
