and here is a Google translation (no clearer than the other one!)

The BGB (ah). Yes, where do they go for .... Oldtimer friends, Mayor Harald Krüger with representatives of the City Council and the advertising ring, they all waiting for. Prick up their ears to hear the engines of the announced 180 T3 models. The cameras are ready, the weather agrees, the food is prepared. But where in the world remain the vehicles? Is it because that not a single sign at the location in the factory road 41? If there is no hotline to the T3-drivers? The hands of the clock continue to run relentlessly, but nothing sensational happening. "There is something a little look, but yes tomorrow is another day," said a visitor and goes. Finally seeps through: many drivers are looking for the T3 Bulli Museum in Brunswick!

But first things first: Even on Saturday morning ranks the syndicate issued T2-models to make room for the participants of the 25-year-Syncro meeting of Stadtoldendorf. The plan, in a convoy to drive to the Bulli Museum. Röttges Roland, chairman of IG T2 learns until noon, the vehicles will arrive in 20 groups. Lucky because 180 buses at a stroke would lead to considerable local logistical problems. The classic car show friends are patiently waiting, and meanwhile enjoy a Buick built in 1954 or an NSU ZDB 201 Motorcycle Year 1937th While highly visible on the motorway and T3 models, "June bugs" around Hanover, they fall into the BGB one simply can not.

In the 1875 built sugar factory, which on Saturday is one of 200 visitors, revels Martina Hoppe who has traveled with Lieselotte Pülm from Salzhemmendorf in memories: "We also have a T3 Built in 1986, had a pity that we no longer have." Beetle driver Manfred Kowalski from Hamlin says, with a view to still work to be performed to make: to "From an old chamber pot a frying pan, that's difficult." But he also an appreciative "Damn exclaims," for what the friends of the VW buses have already done years 1967-79. "Almost 400 square plaster we have been knocked off," said IG T2-member Gerhard Wagner and provides information on the further planning. "Petrol talks," as Rainer Schwertfeger from Rinteln calls them, are being waged, addresses exchanged, made appointments. Occasionally dip T3 models from Stadtoldendorf, including T2-Fan Henrike Becker from Recklinghausen, which finds: "The museum is fantastic and offers a very nice cross-section."

The group of waiting is smaller. Those who try to cast at least a glimpse into the private collection of vintage VW family Grundmann be disappointed again. The gates are closed, the owner is not informed that he should open his private museum.

arrive as Sharon and Ady Belcher from Bournemouth four hours later than expected, they tell: "We could not find the Bulli Museum in Brunswick." As the members of the "Syncronauts" in England their documents before the departure from Stadtoldendorf not tangible, they use a flyer for orientation of the interest group T2. The small print in the text is German for lack of knowledge among the table, but the address on a postcard attached to understand the British: "Bulli Museum of the interest group T2, Postfach 2618, 38102 Braunschweig. So they set off on the search for the mailbox in Braunschweig. The Belcher's helping a young man at a gas station in Braunschweig, the "Bulli Museum" in his I-phone type. A T3-driver from Dublin is in Braunschweig out even the address of the former Bulli Museum seat. So it's for him only after Salzgitter, before he learns that his destination is the BGB. There he meets one after about 200 km detour. Five cars from the UK to keep feeding at this time. The inmates, including the two-year Abby Harris from Scotland, have taken Directions with humor and are captivated by the ambience of the Bulli Museum.

From the city of Braunschweig and Salzgitter Oldendorf after the BGB, this path will go down in the history of Bulli Museum. For the community of interest T2 there is a small happy ending on Sunday: 100 visitors until noon, a convoy of 15 T3-city models from Oldendorf and even late "June bugs" take one ....

Liking that translation.. it pretty well covers it ! Adey and Sharon's (from Dublin in Bournemouth :D ) story is worth regaling sometime, a very determined effort to get there...

and

The group of waiting is smaller. Those who try to cast at least a glimpse into the private collection of vintage VW family Grundmann be disappointed again. The gates are closed, the owner is not informed that he should open his private museum.

Well, we managed to get the guy to open up (for a donation) and boy, what an amazing private collection.. Roger's eyes when he saw all those now so rare Porsches he'd once owned
And Abbi will have a story to tell when she's older... she drove the (actual!) 3rd production prototype of the VW Beetle with a photo to prove it (but Mum's the word! )

Will put a few more up of that collectioon, but the Bulli is definitely 'a work in progress', the best thing was the Flammkuchens, yum, yum

Yes, Roger's single-cab did look really good in rattle-can black - 'purposeful' shall we call it?

Maybe one day some of us will return to the BGB Bulli museum when it has been completed, and laugh again at that strange journey remembering that we had our cake half way, at the previous Bulli museum (thanks iPhone Google!), before deciding not to abort and finally got to eat and enjoy it when the doors of the fabulous private Grundmann museum were opened.
