i`d be intertested to compare a subaru against the wasser for mpg.
not sure about the dj but the mv is not sequential injection so there`s a mpg problem there. after the difference in mpg i noticed buy driving slower and not changing down on the hills i`m wondering how much mpg is lost just by pushing more air by going faster. not exactly aerodynamic are we.

Not got the figures to verify, but I reckon that my 2.2 returns 30mpg minimum, cruising at 80. That's at about 3600 rpm. 2 fixed front seats, caravelle r&r, cool box and calypso buddy box. Very low too. Maybe a bit lighter than most?
Without knowing what your bus weighs, comparisons are a bit meaningless...

Ive never thought of using the words 'aerodynamic' and 'T25' in the same sentence! I dont think its right.

I would say 30 mpg from an EJ22 is possible, but not at 80 mph

We got back on friday, and recorded the fuel and milage for the event and our two weeks of touring.
For a 2.1 camper FULLY loaded with stuff,
over 2700 odd miles,
we averaged 24.0 mpg.
Which is possibly a bit better than I expected but cruising for literally hours on end at a constant 60mph must be good for consumption.

Hi Alistair (& Michelle & Abbie),

Thanks for making space in a time of need to get us to the museums and back, saved the day!

That's a very good figure there for a 2.1... but noticing your steady driving technique, I'd say that 24 then is about as good as one can get from a 2.1 over that sort of distance from a Syncro, as the engine seemed to be running very sweet.
