Post by JustSharon »

Thankyou :ok to all of you that supported me, I started it as a bit of 'a crack' but it happened,
Well actually ...
I got absolutely plastered afterwards, thank you for putting up with that aswell.

Yes, really well done Sharon. Credit to Pete too for suberb work as co-driver. I'm sure I wasn't the only one there moved by your sheer determination.

Put it into context for those who weren't there.

Of the 550 vans that arrived only 40 were brave enough to enter into the trial; quite a few of those were from the british/irish side of the water. Of those a handful including Patrick, Andrew, Dai, Sharon and Clive got a clear round and were entered into a final with a host of of other europeans.

Of the 20 who made it into the final trial only three clear rounded and were entered into a drive off; our Sharon was the only brit (and the only female in the competition) she was pitched against a German and an Austrian and had to drive the course again but in the reverse direction.

Only the Austrian clear rounded again; sharon came second and the German third.

Sharon, with Pete, you did a superb trials run. Well done. You kept your cool during the competition, while I dropped lots of points due to too much adrenaline pumping around my system. I'm very pleased our club was so well represented in the finals, and you are the best Syncro female driver in the world - its official!

Sharon, Well done :ok

You remained totally focussed, we even saw you pacing every turn of the wheel prior to the start of the final.
An inspiring performance, and a great thing to see at our first meeting with the Syncronauts.
